Lord Digby Jones joins MP Helen Grant in Maidstone
Lord Digby Jones and Maidstone and the Weald MP Helen Grant will cut the ribbon on a new extension to a popular Maidstone restaurant next week.
Former Minister of State for Trade and Investment Lord Jones and Mrs Grant will be the guests of honour at the enlarged Frederic Bistro at a launch party on Monday.
The extension will double the capacity of the thriving French café bistro, with a new extended kitchen, and a wine and cheese room also being installed.
Frederic (named after owner Ulric Allsebrook's son in an effort to reconnect him with his French roots) is a family business specialising in French cuisine made from seasonal produce and sourced from local suppliers where possible.
Mr Allsebrook said of the opening: "I am thrilled to welcome Lord Digby Jones and Mrs Grant here to what will be a special day for the café. This extension is a big step forward for us and it will double our capacity, allowing us to open our doors to a whole new audience."
Mrs Grant said: "It is a pleasure to be able to participate by cutting the ribbon on the extension of a prosperous local restaurant. Frederic is a real success story and it is great to see a local family business in my constituency doing so well. I am delighted that all the hard work Ulric has put in over the years is paying off."
